Written by lyricist Eddie DeLange and Jimmy Van Heusen, other notable recordings include band leader/singer Cab Calloway (1939), those by jazz trumpeter Chet Baker (1959), vocalist Dakota Staton (1972), and Buster Poindexter, a.k.a. David Johansen from the rock band New York Dolls (1989).
